KOOLPAD DATA COLLECTION SOFTWARE

Koolpad data collection software runs on a hand-held PocketPC computer to collect and display logger data. Typically, one or more Koolpad systems will be used to collect data from loggers installed in various locations.

Koolpad displays summary information in graphic or numeric form, and displays temperature alarms at point of collection.

The Koolpad package includes software on cdrom, logger interface and cable, and software licence on diskette. Koolpad runs on palmtop computers such as the Compaq iPaq, and requires a serial RS-232 cable to be purchased with the PocketPC. Please contact Kooltrak before purchasing a PocketPC.

Temperature data collected with Koolpad can be transferred to a Kooltrak database simply by "synchronizing" the PocketPC either locally or remotely, or by transferring the data as email attachments. Wherever the temperature data is, collection is easy!

This software allows complete monitoring systems to be simply and easily constructed, and together with Kolltrak network loggers creates an amazingly low cost networked logging system with many powerful features.

In addition to directly monitoring temperature loggers in real time Koolprobe will write temperature data to a Kooltrak database for later anlaysis and report generation. Koolprobe responds to "events" such as an over-temperature alarm, and takes actions such as displaying on-screen temperature alarms.

This software allows complete monitoring systems to be simply and easily constructed, and together with Kooltrak network loggers creates what we believe to be the best and most economical graphic-display networked temperature logging system available.

Koolprobe Pro can display temperatures and alarms directly in a graphic representation of the area floor plan. The floor plan is described by an HTML file and can be created or modified by the user's computer programming staff with any desired information.

Koolprobe Professional responds to "events" such as an over-temperature alarm, and takes actions such as displaying on-screen temperature alarms, or generating a detailed email alarm message to a remote recipient or to another Kooltrak system.

In conjunction with Koolprobe Watchdog hardware, external alarms such as warning lights or a siren can be initiated, and a number of relay outputs can be controlled by software-generated events. The same Watchdog hardware monitors the operation of the Koolprobe Pro program, the computer operating system, and the mains power supply, and generates an independant alarm should any of these sources not operate correctly. Koolscan is an add-on module to Kooltrak that allows logger temperature data sent by email to be automatically collected and processed into the Kooltrak database.

Koolscan automatically scans a list of directories or email servers at scheduled intervals, looking for email messages with a subject containing specified keywords, and moves the temperature data attached to those emails into a directory ready for processing into the database.

KOOLSTART LOGGER PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE

Koolstart logger programming software facilitates programming large numbers of loggers with the same parameters. Compartment number and position number are automatically incremented each time the PROGRAM button is pressed, and the programming operation takes only a few seconds per logger.

Koolstart is NOT required by normal Kooltrak users, and is intended for users with special applications and hundreds to thousands of loggers that are continually reprogrammed.

WATCHDOG TIMER REALTIME SYSTEM MONITOR

When constructing networks of loggers intended to collect critical data continuously, some method is needed to monitor the computer system and generate an alarm if it stops functioning correctly.

The Koolprobe Watchdog Timer performs this function. Connected to the computer parallel port, the Watchdog communicates continually with the Koolprobe Pro program. If the Koolprobe program stops running, or if the computer operating system stops, or if the computer power supply fails, the watchdog closes an external alarm relay.

Several related functions are included, including a set of relays that can be operated from the Koolprobe program. It is possible for example to configure a sophisticated building heating and cooling control system, with loggers located at numerous locations of interest. Using Koolprobe software a control program can be implemented that uses an algorithm of unlimited complexity to control the system. In this way it is easily possible to create a control system that is almost impossible using conventional hardware solutions.

KOOLCHECK LOGGER ALARM DISPLAY

When large numbers of Kooltrak loggers are in use (for example to monitor cartons of food during transport), Koolcheck offers a fast and easy way for non-specialist personel to check the loggers.

Simply pressing Koolcheck onto a logger sounds a beeper and displays a green led when all is well, a red led when a temperature alarm level has been exceeded, and indicates if the logger is operating correctly. No skill or knowledge is needed to obtain the result, and any shipment that shows a red alarm can be put aside and the logger data examined in detail with Kooltrak or Koolpad.

Koolcheck is low in cost and well suited for use in large numbers anywhere temperature sensitive goods are shipped.

COILED CONTACT CABLE

These cables are connected to the Kooltrak logger interface, are used to contact the logger, and are available in two lengths. A short 200001 cable is supplied with Koolpad, and a medium 220002 cable is included in the Intropak and with Kooltrak software.

NETWORK JUNCTION BOX

When constructing networks of loggers junctions are required in various locations, and this junction box is provided for the purpose.

The four cable glands are moulded into the case, and when correctly tightened onto cat5 network cable the whole asembly is waterproof to IP65 or better.

NETWORK CONTACT BOX

On mobile networks (eg fitted in trucks) this contact box is available to provide an access point for the computer used to read the data. When the cable gland is correctly tightened onto cat5 cable the assembly is waterproof to IP65 and can be fitted outside the body of the trailer so that the logger network can be read when the trailer is sealed shut.

The cable gland can be fitted on the side or base of the box (allowing the cable to go throught the panel below the box so it isn't exposed.) Please specify the required configuration when ordering.
